- Turn your iPod on. You can turn your iPod on by pressing any of the buttons on your iPod's spin-wheel(the center button for some iPods).
- Go to the main menu. You can get to the main menu by pressing the menu button, as pictured to the right. You may need to press your menu button more than one time, depending on what screen your iPod was previously on.
- Scroll to your brightness settings. From your main menu, scroll to settings, then to brightness settings. You can scroll forwards or backwards to make your screen brighter, or dimmer.

- When turning your iPod on, if it does not turn on by pressing any of the buttons on the spin wheel, make sure that your iPod is not locked.
