Draw Flying Birds
You can learn how to draw birds flying following this simple tutorial. It will show you how to draw three different positions of flying birds.
Steps
- Draw three simple ovals with one line inside of each oval. They should be tilted at different angles and slightly different sizes, but indistinguishably in a group.
- Add small circles. These will serve as the birds' heads. Draw ovals to mark where the wings will go.
- Draw semicircles and triangles as shown. You can already see birds in the shapes here. Connect those geometrical shapes and erase lines that you don't need anymore.
- Add shapes on the edges of the wings to suggest feathers. Add eyes and beaks, then erase unnecessary lines, and outline the image.
- Color the image. Play around with what you want to do with your birds; you can make them brightly colored or dark or simply keep them white. That part is up to you. Enjoy!
Tips
- Draw lightly in pencil so that you can easily rub out mistakes.
- If you want to use markers/watercolors to color your drawing, use paper that is relatively thick and line over your pencil more darkly before doing so.
- Try not to make the tail too big
- Use a ruler.
