Draw a Palm Tree
Palm trees are symbolic of paradise islands, tropical lands and lush jungles. They will grow in a surprising variety of climates and can be seen in lots of different locations from botanical gardens, to dessert oasis. Whether you're drawing one from real life in a landscape you are recreating on paper, or you're making a picture of your own fantasy island, or, doing something else completely different, if you want to draw a palm tree, here are some steps that will help.
Steps
A Cartoon Palm Tree
- Draw two slanted vertical lines for the stem of the palm tree.
- Draw a circle on the top to be used as a guideline shape.
- Draw six curve lines within the circle shape for the fan like leaves.
- Start using those leaf lines and sketch out six big leaf shape .
- Add some detail as well.
- Based on the guidelines, start drawing in detail.
- Erase all the guidelines and shapes.
- Color and shade the palm tree.
A Traditional Palm Tree
- Draw curve lines for the stem of two palm trees together.
- Draw two circles on the top for the stems.
- Draw curve lines from the several direction of the circle like umbrella shape.
- Erase the circles. Then, start using those leaf lines and sketch out six big leaf shape.
- Add some detail as well.
- Add some grass shape at the bottom of the trees.
- Draw the leaves in as much detail as you can, and then draw the grass.
- Remove unwanted lines.
- Color the palm tree.
