Draw an Egg
Trying to draw an egg but you just can't get it right? Then follow this tutorial to learn a trick how to get the egg shape right. It's really quite easy!
Note: follow the red line for each step.
Steps
- First gather all the necessary utensils: paper, pencil, razor gum, pencil sharpener and watercolors. You might want to also use a ruler.
- Start by drawing a vertical line delimited at each end by a small horizontal line (this will help you know where the top and the bottom of the egg must be).
- Over the vertical line draw three horizontal lines of different sizes delimited at each end by a small horizontal line (this will help you outline the shape of the egg).
- These horizontal lines will help you create the perfect egg shape.
- Now outline the egg shape over the “skeleton”.
- Follow the vertical top and bottom, and the horizontal left and right delimitation marks to create the shape of the egg.
- Add in some color.
- Erase the “skeleton” from the egg interior and color with the watercolors.
- Try to color following the shape of the egg.
- Use light blue and light gray.
Tips
- Always use a smaller paper sheet under the hand with which you are drawing to avoid smudging the pencil.
- Use plenty of water to dilute the watercolor to a light shade.
