Driving is something that millions of Americans do every day. It is important to know the basic steps in how to drive a vehicle, to ensure the safety of you and the people around you.
Steps
- Check the out side of your vehicle before entering. quickly look for anything wrong with the vehicle. also, it is a good idea to look at your tires to make sure they are not too low.
- Once in the vehicle, there are a couple of things to check. Adjust mirrors to make sure you can see behind you. Also make sure nothing is laying on the floor near the gas pedal or brake. This could cause an accident.
- PUT ON YOUR SEATBELT. It is not a law in many states for no reason. It can and will save lives if worn properly.
- Once on the road, make sure to be aware. pay attention to signs that you may see because they are there to help you.
- Make sure to follow the speed limit when on the road. It is important to the safety of not only you, but the people around you.
- Use your turn signals. It allows people to know what you are doing. Using them will reduce your chance of an accident.
- Make sure to use your headlights correctly. Use low beams when around other cars so you do not blind them. Use high beams when on country roads. it lights up the road much more and allows more visibility.
- Don't be a jerk. Nobody likes "that guy" who speeds and weaves in and out of traffic. It is not only annoying, it is dangerous.
