Edit Interests on Facebook

Adding interests to your Facebook profile allows your friends and other Facebook users to review the types of hobbies and activities you enjoy. Sometimes, the interests you include in your profile can allow you to make new friends, and connect with other Facebook users who enjoy the same interests. The interests on your Facebook profile can be edited and managed through your user profile menu. Interests may include your favorite music, favorite books, favorite athletes, and more. Continue reading to learn more about the steps you must take to edit your interests on Facebook.

Steps

Access your Facebook Interests

  1. Click on one of the "Facebook" links provided to you in the Sources section of this article.
  2. Click on the "Back to Facebook" link displayed in the upper-right corner of the landing page.
  3. Log in to Facebook with your email address and password. You will then be directed to your main Facebook page.
  4. Click on your name in the upper-right corner. This action will provide you with access to your Profile page.
  5. Click on the "Update Info" button to manage your Facebook profile.
  6. Click on the "About" drop-down menu located in the upper-left corner of the Profile landing page.
  7. Select "Likes" from the list of options provided in the drop-down menu. You will be taken to a landing page that displays your favorite movies, music, and activities, and a full list of all your other interests.

Remove Facebook Interests

  1. Click directly on the link or image of any interest you want removed under "Favorites." You will be redirected to the Facebook page for that particular interest.
  2. Point to the "Liked" button after you have landed on the page for the interest you want removed. A drop-down menu will display with additional options.
  3. Select "Unlike" from the drop-down menu to remove that particular favorite from your own Facebook profile. Going forward, that interest will no longer display in your Facebook profile.

Add Facebook Interests

  1. Click on "More" and then select "likes" in the upper-right corner of your Facebook profile page. An "Edit" button will display.
  2. Click on the "Add like" button. The page will refresh and a Search box will be displayed.
  3. Type your interest in search box (For Example; Wikihow or Television) and Facebook will display matching options to the search.
  4. Select your interest when it displays within the drop-down menu below the prompt box.
  5. The link or image for that particular interest will now display in your liked list and you will be able to see related posts.



Tips

  • Facebook allows you to manage your privacy options for every interest. If you want to restrict particular interests for view by certain friends, click on the globe drop-down menu next to that interest in your Facebook profile. You can then select the desired privacy option for that interest.
