Find Hair Dye

Are you searching for hair dye? But you don't know where? Read on!

Steps

  1. Check out department stores, beauty shops, and even salons. They will usually have temporary and permanent colors that you can buy to color your hair.
  • Be careful when using store-bought hair dye, because it is cheap, and can damage your hair.
  • Most Pharmacies will sell box dye.
  1. Be careful online. Often, you can buy color online, but this is not recommended because you cannot be sure of what you are buying. Always read labels in stores, and then again at home. If you just want to color your hair for Halloween and it needs to be out for school/work Monday, make sure you buy temporary that comes out in about three washes. This is usually a spray.
  • Go to a reliable site, such as amazon.
  • Read the reviews.
  1. Shop at big stores like Walmart during Halloween season for crazy colors, but look at smaller shops at other times. For permanents, drug stores often have high quality colors and products.
  2. Finished.

Tips

  • Buy newer looking boxes. Sometime regardless of hair color, you can make your hair turn the wrong color because the dye has aged in the box.
  • If you are trying to dye your hair darker, opt for a shade that looks a few shades lighter on the box than the shade you actually want. Hair dye from a box almost ALWAYS turns out darker than in the picture. For example, if you want to dye your hair a deep chestnut brown, you should pick a medium brown with reddish tones. Dark brown shades, if left on too long, will turn almost black.
  • Make sure it doesn't contain anything you are allergic to. That could be horrible on your scalp and hair.

Warnings

  • Always read the box. Misuse of the product can absolutely destroy your hair.
  • You should always get an opinion from a professional before permanently dyeing your hair. Some hair colors will change your hair color to orange, purple or green if infused with the wrong color. Even temporary colors may damage hair if not careful.
  • Test the color on the end of your hair before you do your whole head so you know you have the color you want
