Get Friendmojis on Snapchat on iPhone or iPad

This article teaches you how to create Bitmoji stickers of both you and a friend (called Friendmoji) in Snapchat.

Steps

Linking Bitmoji to Snapchat

  1. Open Snapchat. It’s the yellow icon with a white ghost. You’ll typically find it on your home screen.
    • If you’re not already signed in, enter your login information to do so now.
  2. Tap the ghost icon. It’s at the top-left corner of the screen.
  3. Tap + Create Bitmoji. It’s at the top-left corner of the screen.
  4. Tap Create Bitmoji. This will take you to the App Store so you can download the Bitmoji app.
  5. Tap Get. It’s the button to the right of the App Store’s star rating. The app will now download to your iPhone or iPad. When the download is complete, the button will change to “Open.”
    • If you’ve ever installed Bitmoji in the past, you’ll see a cloud icon instead of “Get.” Tap that instead.
  6. Tap Open. Bitmoji will open to the login screen.
  7. Tap Log in with Snapchat. This signs you into Bitmoji using your Snapchat account.
  8. Tap Create Bitmoji.
  9. Customize your Bitmoji. Start by selecting a gender, then follow the on-screen instructions to customize your avatar’s appearance until you reach the “Connect Bitmoji to Snapchat?” screen.
    • If you already have an avatar, skip to the next step.
  10. Tap Agree & Connect on the “Connect Bitmoji to Snapchat” screen. Your Bitmoji account is now linked to Snapchat, making it possible to see Bitmoji characters starring you and a friend together.

Adding Friendmoji

  1. Open Snapchat. It’s the yellow icon with a white ghost, usually on your home screen.
  2. Tap Chat. It’s at the bottom-left corner of the screen. This opens the Chats screen.
  3. Select a chat. Tap a contact’s name to open a chat with that person. Be sure to choose someone who has linked Bitmoji to Snapchat.
    • If you can’t find the person with whom you want to chat, tap the magnifying glass at the top of the screen to search for them.
  4. Take a Snap. Tap the large white circle at the bottom-center area of the screen to take a photo, or hold it down to record video.
    • If you just want to send a Friendmoji to the chat (not add one to a photo) you can skip this step.
  5. Tap the sticker icon. If you’ve created a photo or video snap, it looks like a square sheet of paper with a folded-up corner. If you’re sending Friendmoji to the chat, it’s the smiley face icon.
  6. Swipe right until you see the Friendmoji screen. You’ll know you’re there when you see Bitmoji scenes that show both you and your friend.
  7. Tap the Friendmoji you want to add. It will appear on the photo/video (or in the message box, if you’re just sending it to chat).
    • If you add the Friendmoji to a photo or video, you can change its size by pinching it in or out with your fingers.
  8. Send your Snap. Your friend will now receive a Snap or message that contains your Friendmoji.
