Get a Seat on a Bus

Are you going to be traveling by bus in the near future, and are worried that you won't be able to get a seat? If so, then this is the article for you! This article mainly applies to public and school buses.

Steps

  1. Get to the bus stop early. The earlier you are, the better chance you have of finding a seat.
  2. If you have a friend who will be taking the same bus, ask them to save a seat for you. This is a good alternative for those who don't want to wait at the bus stop for a long time.
  3. If you arrive late and the bus is already full, wait for the next bus or go to the next stop.
  4. Sometimes the only seat will be next to a perfect stranger. Take the plunge and sit next to them! You might make a new friend!
  5. Time your bus trip. The amount of other travellers highly depends on the bus company and the time of the day and year. If possible, take the bus outside of peak hours to get a better chance of having a seat.

Tips

  • If you ask a friend to save a seat for you, it is common courtesy to do the same for them when needed.
  • Be polite to the bus driver!
  • Always ask before sitting next to a stranger. A simple "Is anybody sitting here?" will be fine.
