J Hop on a Bike
The J Hop is one of the first tricks you can learn. After you master this, go on to bigger and better tricks.
Steps
- Ride normally. Get a good amount of speed going before trying the trick.
- Do a wheelie. When your tire is in the air, lean forward and push out on your handle bars.
- Your back tire should go up at least a little if not try to push harder. Sometimes if you don't push hard you won't get it to move.
- Practice getting a little air until you get higher and farther than when you started. If you are comfortable doing the trick, then you can practice jumping onto curbs.
- Practice frequently.
Tips
- Having a light weight bike helps with this trick.
- You may first need to know what it feels like to get your bike into the air. To do that, you may want to hit a ramp.
- To have a better time, learn with your friends and make a party out of it.
- Always wear a helmet.
Warnings
- Don't lean forward too much, or you could fall over.
- Don't try jumping onto a curb until you are completely sure that you can do it. Make sure you are not only going at least {{safesubst:#invoke:convert|convert}} higher then the curb but getting really far.
Things You'll Need
- A bike
- Helmet (recommended for all)
