Make a Bear‐Shaped Cellphone Case
Cellphone cases are an important way of keeping your cellphone free of dents and scratches. But these cases don't have to be ordinary––a cute cellphone case can be a fun addition to your bag accessories. In this tutorial, you'll learn how to make a bear shaped cellphone case and it's an ideal project even for beginners.

Steps
Part 1: Preparing the Felt
- Trace the shape of your cellphone onto a piece of pattern paper. Add an additional {{safesubst:#invoke:convert|convert}} to the edge all around the pattern (seam allowance). This forms the bear's head and body. At the top end (the bear's head), draw on an additional two circles or ovals to form the bear's ears. See the image for guidance.
- Cut the felt. The felt pattern should be cut as follows:
- Use the paper template to cut out two pieces of felt fabric to the pattern piece.
- Cut out one more piece of felt, cutting it {{safesubst:#invoke:convert|convert}} longer than the other two felt pieces.
- Embroider the facial features. It is easier to do this before sewing the case together. Embroider eyes, nose and mouth on one of the smaller pieces of felt, as shown in the image accompanying this section.
Part 2: Sewing the Case Together
- Pin the bottom edge of the embroidered felt piece on the bottom edge of the longer felt piece. Sew along the edges of each piece.
- Form the case. Fold the embroidered piece of felt and the longer piece of felt. See the image for guidance.
- Place the other smaller, non-embroidered piece of felt onto the embroidered piece of felt. Sew along the edges of both. Leave the bottom side open.
- Slip the cellphone in. Then turn the phone end back over the back piece and the phone will be tucked snug inside the case.
- Completed.
Tips
