Make a Cell Phone Case

Cell phones come in many shapes and sizes, and finding one to fit your phone can sometimes be tricky (not to mention expensive). Luckily, making a custom cell phone case is easier than you'd think. Just see step 1 below to begin.

Steps

  1. Gather your phone and sewing supplies.
  2. Fold your fabric in half. Pin it in place to keep it from moving.
  3. Place your phone on the fabric and trace around it with a pencil.
  4. Cut the fabric, adding an extra inch to all sides. This should accommodate for the seams, hem and thickness of your phone.
  5. With right sides together, stitch three sides of your case together, leaving a half-inch seam allowance.
  6. Turn the opening over twice, to form a half-inch hemline and stitch it in place.
  7. Attach a set of Velcro circles, to either side of the hem, to secure the opening.
  8. Attach a sturdy loop of ribbon, to one side of the opening, as a finger, wrist or belt strap.
  9. Turn the case right side out.
  10. Finished.

Tips

  • Choose any random boring old phone case.
  • Ensure that the case you selected properly fits your device.
  • Add some glitter and anything fun that you want on your phone case!
  • Wait a couple of hours until all of your decorations are glued.
  • Put the phone case on your devise!
  • Cut out four pieces of leather exactly the same size, but slightly bigger than your phone. Glue two and two together. Sew around three edges using a sewing machine.

Warnings

  • Be careful to keep the case dry!
