Where it says "Type Location", type shutdown -l -tp 30 -c "Windows has encountered a system error, and must now shut down." Name the shortcut "Internet Explorer".It will now appear on the desktop.
  2. Opening the properties. Right-click the icon and select "Properties"
  3. Changing the icon. Click "Change Icon", and you should see a [Browse] button, click on that, and find your way to "C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\explore.exe". Double click on that and a list of icons will appear. Click on the Icon that looks like a Big blue "E" with a halo and click "OK".
  4. This will make the shortcut appear to look like the Internet Explorer shortcut. You can do the same trick with other programs present on the computer. Be clever! Make shortcuts and place them in the most likely places your victim will click!

Tips

  • If you are really evil you can place the shortcut in the auto start directory in the start menu.
  • You can cancel it by going to Start, Run..., typing in "shutdown -a" or if the time limit is too short for this press the windows key and the "r" key simultaneous than type "shutdown -a"
  • If you are doing this at school make sure your principal doesn't catch you. If he/she does do not say you were just doing it for fun. Admit pranking.
  • If you do it on the kid sitting next to you, avoid laughing.
  • Remember to use this with an appropriate Browser.

Warnings

  • Only use this when appropriate. In other words, don't do this to a teacher.

Things You'll Need

  • Access to the Windows PC you wish to make the prank on, preferably an Administrator account.
