Nose Manual on a Bike

Riding on just your front tire, with the back tire in the air. This trick is seriously cool, but difficult.

Steps

  1. Ride at a slow-medium speed.
  2. DO NOT! **Pull on your front brake as hard as possible** If you use your brakes, you will end up face-planting the floor. To get this trick right, rather than braking, you need to Bunny hop onto your front wheel - It doesn't require a big hop, just enough for you to land on your front wheel at the Bikes balance point ( This is the point at which the bike is perfectly balanced, it won't flip over forwards on you or just fall back onto both wheels)
  3. To find the balance point of your bike takes time, but once you have found it, the nose manual become pretty easy.
  4. Once you are up on the front wheel ( hopefully on that balance point =D) try to keep your balance for as long as possible, do this by shifting your weight back and forth over the balance point.

Tips

  • Once you can ride with it for a second or two, make marks on the ground to practice riding farther in the manual. Parking lines in a parking lot are perfect.
  • Don't get to frustrated if you can't find your balance point, it takes time - and some nasty face injuries.

Warnings

  • If you own a full-face helmet - wear it. Your face will thank me.
  • It's hard to overdo it, but if you feel like your about to do a face-plant, take your feet off the pedals and put them on the ground asap, or you may find your face ruined.

Things You'll Need

  • Safety gear(helmet, pads)
  • Some bike riding experience
  • A bike!
