Organize Apps for iPhone and iPod Touch in iTunes

With thousands of apps available at your fingertips, it's easy to accumulate many apps on your iPhone or iPod Touch. Using folders and rearranging those apps can help organize those many apps so you can get to that app efficiently.

Steps

On Your iPhone/iPod Touch

  1. Unlock your iPhone/iPod Touch so you are on the main screen.
  2. Press and hold your finger on an application for a few seconds. After a few seconds all the applications on the screen should start to "wiggle".
  3. While all the apps are shaking, you can move them around to different positions or even delete them.
    • Consider placing apps you use most frequently in the first or second page of apps, or down in the bottom.
    • To delete an app press the little "x" in the upper left corner.
  4. Drag an app over another to create a folder. Consider grouping apps by categories or frequency of use.

On iTunes

  1. Open up iTunes and plug in your iPhone or iPod Touch.
  2. Once iTunes is open click the symbol of your iPhone or iPod Touch.
  3. Once you have clicked that click the tab that says Apps.
  4. When the screen comes up it will look like the image to the right of this step. On the right of the picture you will see the pages for your apps. There you are able to move them around to fit your needs. To the left of that you will see a list of all your apps. You can click the box to check or un check the apps.
    • If you uncheck the apps they will not come up on your iPhone or iTouch.
  5. To move the apps around click that app on the screen in the previous step and then move it to where you want it.
