Replace a Throttle Cable on a Vespa Et2

Vespas are quite possibly one of the funnest ways to get around. Not only do you get to zip by larger, lumbering cars, but you also get to feel like you may starring in a movie with Audrey Hepburn while doing so. Of course, sometimes your Vespa needs a little fixing up. When it does, it's good to know how to do the maintenance yourself, including how to replace the throttle cable.

Steps

  1. Find the carburetor and look for parts that can be removed. You may have to remove the carb on an older model Vespa. The throttle cable is a C clamp on the intake manifold.
  2. Unhook the cable.
  3. To re-install, unhook the throttle handle.

Tips

  • You may have to remove the rubber cover first and/or the brake lever

Warnings

  • Don't drop or lose any parts, these things are hard to come by.
