Set Yahoo! Mail Classic As Your Default Webmail
In 2013, Yahoo! changed their web mail to their 5th major version. With this change, they removed the option to return to any earlier version, including Yahoo! Mail Classic. With this new update, they introduced a "Basic" version that replaced Classic. This version is free from all the bells and whistles of the regular version, and it doesn't require JavaScript. This how-to guide will show you how to get into Basic and make it so it would load when you check your emails.
Steps
- Visit Yahoo Mail and sign into your Yahoo! account. Your inbox will likely appear.
- Find the sprocket icon on the top right side of the page, next to your name. Click it to show the menu and then click on "Settings".
- Scroll to advanced settings and set the "Switch now" button to "basic" and click save.
- The page will refresh and the "basic" theme will be loaded.
Tips
- If you want to go back to regular mail, click one of the "Try the newest Yahoo! Mail" links on the top of the screen.
