Snap Your Fingers with Two Hands

There are many sounds you can make with your hands. Snapping fingers is one technique and there are a variety of methods to make different sounds. In this wikiHow we'll look at a finger-snapping method using two hands that can produce a wide variety of sounds.

Steps

  1. Place the thumb and index finger of your left hand (or right, if you are left handed ) a centimeter apart.
  2. Place the index finger of your right hand (left if you're a leftie) in the one centimeter space, and grip it with the two fingers of your left hand.
    • It helps if the two fingers of your left hand are gripping your right index finger with the area opposite the fingernail, so there's a V with your right index finger sandwiched in-between.
  3. Push your right index finger down onto the fleshy part of your hand between the thumb and index finger. You should hear a snapping sound.
    • In this technique the sound comes from the finger slapping against skin and that fairly faint sound being amplified in an echo chamber formed by the other fingers of your hand. Experiment with altering the size of this space to produce different kinds of sounds.
    • Practice a few times.

Other Method

  1. On both sides, stick your middle and pointer finger up,
  2. Bend them and interlock them.
  3. Quickly pull them apart.
  4. If you didn't get it right the first time, no worries! Everyone learns at their own pace. Just keep trying!

Tips

  • Make sure you push down hard, or else you won't get a good sound.
  • PRACTICE PRACTICE PRACTICE.
  • Practice! Some people can do it within their first five tries, others take a while to get the hang of it.
  • Be patient
  • If your hands are cold and you're not getting a loud sound, breathe on your fingertips to add moisture to your skin. Now try again.

Warnings

  • Don't push so hard that you injure your fingertips.
