Solve an Equation on a Scientific Calculator
This instruction set is specific to Casio models of scientific calculator. Scientific calculators can be extremely useful for a variety of tasks, including solving an equation for a variable. Steps
- Slide the calculator out of its protective cover
- Clear the display and memory by pressing "AC"
- Insert the equation that you would like to solve. For example, 6+x=12.
- To insert the variable, press "ALPHA" and then look for a key with the desired letter above it, Example is X,Y,Z and more. (For X this is the right parenthesis key)
- To insert the equals sign("="), press "ALPHA" and the "CALC" button. You will notice the equals sign is an alphabetical character above "CALC"
- Press "shift" then "CALC", which will perform the SOLVE operation.
- The numerical solution will be displayed for your use
