Deal when Someone Loves You and You Don't Love Them Back
Who hasn't seen it: that guy or girl who sprung the fact that they loved you on you. Who hasn't been constantly tailed by an obsessed lover who can't accept that you want to be "just friends." While this isn't the end of the world (nothing truly is) it can be super creepy. Here is how to either deal or shake them off.
Steps
- Show Acceptance. You must understand how they feel.
- Deliberation. Once you get past the panic, think: Is this person really that bad?
- Talk It Over. Explain (calmly!!!) how you feel and why it is you feel that way.
- Remembrance. Think of all your good times together. Do you really want to lose that?
- Stay Calm. Don't yell out that you don't want to be friends anymore. Wait until you can make decisions calmly and rationally.
- Introductions. Introduce your friend to someone new, who is more likely to love this person back.
- Move On. Live your life and don't hate your friend just because they loved you, in fact, be flattered!!!
Tips
- Tell this person why you like him/her as a friend, and explain why it just does not feel right to be anything but that.
- Seem like you aren't totally creeped out, it will hurt their feelings.
- Remember that there's no need to hurt his or her feelings.
- Try to always stay calm.
- Just tell him/her the way you feel and be very calm about it don't try to be rude or yell if you still wanna stay friends be very kind and appreciate their feelings for you, and maybe you can forget it ever happened.
- If you do proceed in friendship just forget it ever happened and don't make him/her embarrassed EVER!!
- Put yourself in their shoes.
- If he or she likes you and they are your friend, just tell them that you are already attracted to somebody else or that you just want to stay friends and no more.
- If they begin to bug you every day, and no progress has been made, you should probably seek professional help.
Warnings
- Remember this; someday you might be the poor soul who can't take your eyes off someone. Ask yourself: how would you feel if that person totally freaked out and hated you, or said that you were some weird dork that this person didn't care about at all? Try to remember that before you act rashly.
