Use Enchanted Books in Minecraft
Enchanted books can be found in many places. They are found in almost any naturally spawning chests, and can be traded for with a librarian villager. When you find an enchanted book, you can use it to enchant an item as long as you have an anvil and enough experience points.
Steps
- Get an enchanted book and the item you want to enchant.
- Search villages, abandoned mineshafts, desert or jungle temples to find an enchanted book.
- Or trade with a librarian for an enchanted book.
- Additionally, you can enchant the book yourself, by putting a regular book in an enchantment table with 1 - 3 pieces of lapis lazuli.
- Right-click an anvil to open the repair and enchanting menu.
- Place the item you want to enchant in the furthest left box.
- Place your enchanted book in the box next to the item.
- Drag your newly enchanted item to your inventory.
Tips
- Some enchantments won't work on certain items.
- "Smite" won't work on a helmet, for example.
- You will need enough experience levels to pay for the enchanting process.
- If your enchantment won't appear as an item, double-check your level and that the enchantment will go on that item.
- Make sure you have Lapis and experience points! If you have no experience points, then you can not enchant.
