Use Your iPad Without an Internet Connection

Perhaps your iPad is not connected to the Internet and you might think that there's "nothing to do without an Internet connection," especially when you're trying to improve your productivity online. However, you can read this article for suggestions on what to do when your iPad is not connected to the Internet.

Steps

  1. Read books on your iPad. iBooks are available to download on Apple's 'App Store'. You can easily access books from a reading app (such as iBooks and Kindle). Reading is good for you, can help you learn new words and is enjoyable and sometimes productive. Reading apps have great features, such as organizing your books into shelves or lists, which allows you to easily access a book.
  2. Take pictures. Sometimes you might need to take pictures, for things such as work or your business, or you can just take pictures for fun. You can do this using an app that allows you to capture them, such as Photo Booth and your iPad's Camera app. Click on the button that allows you to capture your photo, and then it will appear in your camera roll. You can send these to your friends and family too!
  3. Play games that do not require an Internet connection. If you need a break from all the work you've been doing, and/or you just want to relax and have fun, you can play a game on your iPad. Some games that don't require an Internet connection are as follows.
    • Plants vs. Zombies - With their ability to defend, players must keep a clump of zombies from eating some occupant's brains, by dropping fungi and plants all over a certain house. The field for gameplay is separated into a certain quantity of lanes that are recumbent. [1]
    • Angry Birds - Players try to eliminate all pigs. The conceited pigs are shut out by a certain material such as wood and glass. The angry birds used in the game are meant for eliminating the pigs and obstacles. The ten birds are as follows: red bird, blue bird, yellow bird, black bird, white bird, green bird, Big Brother bird, orange bird, pink bird and mighty eagle.
    • You can download apps like these from Apple's App Store!
  4. Be creative! Use apps to make music, sketch, paint, and even design buildings. Some example apps are:
    • My Sketchbook (Free)
    • Paper by Fifty Three (Free)
    • Garageband (£2.99)
    • 123D Sculpt (Free)
  5. Create a file or take notes. If you have some ideas that you want to jot down, or a document/PowerPoint/spreadsheet that you want or need to create, you can do this by using a file creation app to create a file or take notes. These apps include Notes (where you can create a brief note to jot down your ideas or anything you want to write), Pages (where you can create documents with a few great features, such as choosing a document template), and Keynote (where you can customize a beautiful presentation, such as choosing a theme and adding transitions). Note that you cannot access any file creation apps that require an Internet connection.
  6. Use your iPad's calendar app. This app allows you to easily keep track and remind yourself of events, such as appointments, meetings and conference lunches. You can add new events, and delete events that have already happened or have been canceled. You can access the app by going to your iPad's home screen and clicking on "Calendar."

Tips

  • Google Drive will often (though with varying reliability) allow you to edit documents offline.
