Why were the seals important?

More than 2,000 seals were discovered at various sites of the Indus Valley civilization. They were made from various materials, such as steatite, pottery, faience, ivory, etc. These seals revealed a lot of information about Indus Valley people, their dress, ornaments, hair style, religious faiths and commercial activities. It is believed that some day, it might help in deciphering the script. The most relevant seal was that of Shiva Pashupati, found at Mohenjo- Daro.
