Access the Notification Center in iOS

Notification Center is a new feature for iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad. The new feature changes the way notifications from apps and services on your device are managed, allowing you to quickly view notifications via a quickly accessible interface that slides down from the top of your screen. This article will walk you through the process of accessing the Notification Center.

Steps

  1. Swipe to unlock your device if you are currently on the lock screen. Note: Notification Center also provides quick notifications on the lock screen. You can access the apps associated with these notifications by sliding your finder across any notification displayed on your lock screen.
  2. Swipe down from the top of the screen to access Notification Center at any time.
    • You can also quickly access the apps associated with any notification you receive by simply clicking the notification when its displayed on your screen.

Tips

  • iOS 5 provides an new message app called iMessage that allows you to access text messaging services as well free messaging over WiFi and 3G, 4G and 5G to any iPad, iPhone, or iPod touch running iOS 5.

Warnings

  • iOS is only compatible with iPad, iPad 2, iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, and iPod touch 3rd and 4th generation.
