Be Peppy

Here are some ideas to help you to love who you are and to be more peppy and bubbly. A peppy and bubbly personality is someone who is always fun to be around, who lightens the atmosphere with a friendly, happy-go-lucky sense of humor and who cares about everyone in his or her vicinity.

Steps

  1. Try listening to upbeat music. Stay away from depressing or downbeat music. You are aiming for the tops in optimism!
  2. Smile! Studies show that smiling a lot builds up your mood as the endorphins release and happiness becomes a normal state of being for you. Try it on for size and start becoming used to it. It will help to accentuate your positive image, and it will liven the moods of everyone around you. Keep those pearly whites clean, so that you have a beautiful smile.
  3. Splash into the sillies in a fun and happy way. Do something silly but sweet on occasions, for no apparent reason. You might Sing in the Shower at the top of your voice so that others can hear you or start dancing a bobbie little number while waiting at the bus stop. Not only will this make you have fun and laugh, it'll make others laugh as well, especially if you are really bad at those things and get a comedy effect going.
  4. Harness a close group of friends to you. Be kind, respectful and happy with them and be the source of interesting conversation, from random tidbits to amazingly deep insights into how much you value their friendship. This will make you feel super special, it will make your friends feel valued and you will become the cement that glues your little group of great friends together.
  5. Be nice to everyone around you. Help people get onto a bus, carry bags for those in need, open a door and let others through first. Little pieces of kindness that will make your karma forever good when it bounces back your way.



Tips

  • Remember that even the most bubbly and optimistic of people will have down days. While you shouldn't mope about, you should still be able to express your emotion to your closer friends. And remember not to snap at people because of your mood, that will cause people to stay away from you and just think you're a fake.
  • Try thinking of funny things. That will make you smile.
  • Wearing things that smell good will make you happier.
  • Smile and laugh at something you remember.....and laugh it all out!!.
  • Try to make lots of friends. Start a conversation with at least one (new!) person a day. Start with someone in one of your classes. If you can't decide, draw one out of a hat!
  • Attain different looks for different exciting/happy occasions. A slight wide-eyed, mouth open look for exciting news is a must!

Warnings

  • Remember -- not everyone particularly cares for happy and peppy people. Some people may find this annoying. But keep you're head up and stay sweet.
