Be a Girl People Want to be Friends With

Do you want to be the girl who everyone is friends with? Want to be a social butterfly? Although you can never be liked by everyone, this article will help you be liked by almost everyone you meet.

Steps

  1. Be yourself. No matter what, the most important part of being liked by everyone is being yourself. If people like you for your fake personality, then they don't really like you, do they? They only like who they think you are. Never let others tell you who you are. Be confident and make sure you always stay true to yourself.
  2. Hang out with more than one group of friends. Go about and make friends with other people you normally wouldn't hang out with. Do not shy away from the opportunity to talk and make friends. Even if you just make friends with one person from another clique, it can possibly lead you to being friends with the whole group.
  3. Don't be afraid to be a little loud. People who are loud and outgoing normally attract attention and bring out the best in people. However, don't be the girl whose voice is ten times louder than everyone else's. It gets very annoying very fast, and people will think you're obnoxious. Find the right balance of being outgoing, but not annoying.
  4. Dress how you want, to attract the kind of friends you want. For example, bright clothing might indicate your bubbly personality.
  5. Try talking to the shy people. Most of them love to have conversations, though they won't be the ones to start them. Also, talking to a person who doesn't have much to say builds confidence. Just make sure you let the shy person talk too. Volunteer questions to keep the conversation going and compliment them too. For example, ask them where they got the shirt that they're wearing, saying that it's really cute.
  6. Talk to everyone. Say 'Hi' when you pass an acquaintance. People tend to instinctively say "Hi" back.
  7. Be diverse in the stuff you do and like. Listen to different types of music; for example, if you normally just listen to pop, try techno, rap, or rock. Go on YouTube and look for unknown singers/bands. You'll make friends out of different types of music. Download iTunes and Download and Upload Songs from iTunes. Then, download Genius on it; it will show you totally unheard of bands and songs. You could also look up music genres on Google and find bands on Wikipedia.
  8. Try new hobbies. Take up an instrument, draw, join a club, play a sport, etc and you can make friends with people who like the same things that you do. If you're around people who share the same interests as you, it makes it easier to talk to them.
  9. Hang out a lot with all your friends. If you invite your old friends and new friends to the same place, they might become friends with each other, unless you know they hate each other. Once you make new friends, you have to keep them, so every once in a while, invite someone over to your house, to go shopping, or to see a movie with you.
  10. Go on some social networking websites. Websites like Twitter and Facebook keep you in touch with friends even when you're not with them. It also helps friendships grow. Try it out, but make sure it's okay with your parents first.
  11. Don't let go of your old friends. Unless there is a perfectly logical reason for why you are no longer friends with them, do not let them go. Though you'll be a social butterfly, don't leave your old friends behind in the dust.
  12. Be nice to the people you like. If there's anyone you dislike, avoid them.
  13. Be a true friend. People dislike fake friends. If others find out that you're only being their friend so you'll be liked by everyone, they're bound not to stick around. Be true friends with people that you really care about.
  14. Enjoy Yourself! Now that you've got all these friends and people like you, have some fun! Remember not to get stressed or overwhelmed with all your new buds. Sometimes you just have to say no to hanging out and have some "me" time. Friends are friends, not chores!
