Be the Life and Soul of Any Party

Are you the bashful or shy type at a party? Well that can all change, if you so desire. Here are some steps to get you to party hard and get you ready to rave it out at the next gathering!

Steps

  1. Talk to your friends or anyone else you know. However, this is the time to make new friends. Go up to someone who looks interesting and start a conversation. If the talk goes downhill, excuse yourself and try conversing with someone else. Move around the room; you are not tied to anyone.
  2. Drink, if you're 21 or over, as it will loosen your inhibitions, if beverages are being served. Just don't go overboard and/or drink on an empty stomach. You don't want to get drunk and cause a scene, nor do you want to drive drunk and have an accident. Make sure you have someone with you who is not drinking and can drive you home.
  3. Play some good music. If the music is dull, then often so is the atmosphere. Play something that goes with the type of gathering, whether it is jazz, country, rock, blues, folk, and so on.
  4. Dance. In relation to the previous step, RAVE. Go for crazy dance moves all over the place, that's the spirit (as long as it goes with the music)! Although you may want to make sure you're either a great dancer or just really funny with it. Both would be perfect!

Tips

  • Try to get to know everyone in the room! Your friends are still your friends, just make sure that you're open to others you don't know and not just hovering around your inner circle the whole night. Keep a smile and a happy attitude to make yourself easily approachable!
  • As you can never be too prepared, think of some topics ahead of time to talk about. A dull confrontation equals a boring conversation! Make sure that you have a lot to talk about and that none of it is boring or inappropriate.
  • Don't act like a wacko. This can cause people to think you are weird and crazy. But a funny picture here and a crazy dance move there is OK.

Warnings

  • Don't embarrass or show up anyone, since then you will no longer be invited to parties!
  • Try not talk behind peoples backs, especially if you don't know them well enough. It is a party, so the chances of your joke about "Bob's terrible hair cut" spreading to him is very high. As simple as it sounds, it could slip your mind after a few drinks. And some may take it more serious than others.
  • Excessive alcohol consumption can be life threatening and also cause long term health effects, along with accidents when combined with driving.

Things You'll Need

  • Beverages and snacks.
  • Glow sticks.
  • Good variety of music.
