How far had art developed during the age of Mesopotamia?

Though due to lack of stone, wood and different metals, art could not flourish in Mesopotamia on such a large scale as in Egypt, but its remarkable contribution in this field cannot be ignored. Numerous massive temples were built, which had a very life like look and were full of vigor and action. Their greatest contribution in the field of architecture is in the field of introduction of archs, columns and vaults. The vigor and action can be seen in hunting and war scenes, which have not been surpassed even by the Greeks.
