How far were the Sumerians familiar with education?
A system of writing was started by Sumerians. Skilled writers were known as scribes and were highly trained and important people. They used hard baked clay tablets and a well sharpened reed to carve out wedge shaped characters. These wedge shaped characters are known as the 'Cunieform script' These Sumerians are also conferred with the crown of discovering numbers and counting. They used the units of 60 for time and 360 for measuring a circular object.
