Love Your Teddy Bear

Ever wanted to really believe that your teddy is real, like it's actually your pet? Well if you follow these few easy tips, you'll have a pet in no time.

This is part of wikiHow's Games of Imagination series.

Steps

Looking After Your Teddy Bear

  1. Name your teddy. Be creative you can find inspiration anywhere;
    • Your favorite foods such as Cookie, Apple pie, Banana, Muffin, Fudge, or Chip as in chocolate chip.
    • Colours and shapes such as Pinkie, Rose, Midnight, Blackie, Blu/Boo, Tri, or Roundy.
    • Types of weather such as Snowy, Blustery, Misty, Rainy, Cloudy, Sunny, or Sunshine.
  2. Make your teddy comfy. Make them clothes and a bed. Make a spot in your room to use as your teddy's little corner.
  3. Be kind and gentle with your teddy. Treat your teddy like a real bear.
  4. Groom your teddy with a soft brush. Keep your teddy looking nice and his fur soft.
  5. Be a teddy bear doctor. If your bear encounters an accident, approach the situation creatively. Patch up any boo boo's with a band-aid and a kiss.

Spending Time with Your Teddy Bear

  1. Take your teddy wherever you go. Teddy bears love to go to movies and sleepovers. Make sure he/she doesn't wander off when your not looking. Bears aren't very good with direction and can't get home by themselves.
  2. Hug and kiss your teddy before you go to bed. Teddy's love cuddles make sure you sleep with your teddy. Make pajamas, slippers, and an eye mask for the teddy.
  3. Talk to your teddy about your feelings.

Tips

  • If you decide against clothing, keep a towel wrapped around him/her during the cooler months.
  • Clothes and items for your teddy add a lot of fun to your teddy's life.
  • Tie a friendship band to the bear to show the bear how much you care for him/her.
  • You might not want to take your bear everywhere. That's okay too.
  • If the bear gets a rip, stitch it or ask an adult.
  • Hey Girls! If you have American Girl Dolls, use their clothes on your bears! They fit great!
  • Don't ever think that you are too old for a teddy.
