Make a Recycled Heart Valentine's Day Card
Use up those bits of paper lying around the house to make a simple but effective Valentine's Day card. Children and adults can make this without needing any crafty know-how at all, it's that simple. Get your materials and start creating!
Steps
- Cut out a square from the Make Your Own Wrapping Paper. The square should overlap the size of the heart.
- Cut out the Make a Heart Shaped Cake from the cardboard.
- Fold the A4 card in half. Fold it back on itself to strengthen the crease. Stand it up to check it can stand by itself without sagging.
- Cover the cardboard heart with the wrapping paper.
- Stick the paper to the back of the heart using the adhesive tape.
- Attach the foam pads or stickies to the back of the love heart.
- Position the heart over the card in the placement desired. Stick it on by pushing it against the card firmly.
- Decorate the card. Use the metallic pens to add some kisses or simple hearts. Keep it simple as this will make it the most effective.
- Write your message inside the card. Use the metallic pens to write your message of love. You're done!
Tips
- Gel pens might also be suitable in place of metallic pens; or use other markers that you prefer, such as eco-friendly markers.
Things You'll Need
- 1 square piece wrapping paper, use recycled paper; iron flat if needed
- Cardboard for cut-out heart
- Scissors
- Adhesive foam pads/stickies (substitute glue if preferred)
- Adhesive/sticky tape
- A4 sheet of thin card, reuse old card that you have in craft supplies, or be creative and find card from old calendars etc.
- Envelope, recycled/salvaged that fits the card shape
- Metallic pens (choose colours according to colour cardboard you are using)
