Replace the Battery Fuel Cell on a Razor E300s

The Razor E300s is a recreational electric scooter that is enjoyed by many. After years of use, one will find the usable life of a Razor E300 electric is highly dependent on the life of the battery fuel cell. Being able to change the battery fuel cell can extend the usable life of the scooter and provide years of continued enjoyment.

Steps

  1. Turn the On/Off switch to the off position.
  2. Remove the deck screws. Using a Phillips Screwdriver, 4mm Allen wrench and an 8mm open end wrench, remove six screws and two Allen screws from the deck and remove the deck plate.
  3. Remove the battery strap screws. Using a Phillips screwdriver, remove the two screws securing the battery strap.
  4. Disconnect the battery wire connection from the control.
  5. Disconnect the wires. Using a set of needle nose pliers, disconnect the wire connections from the backside of the On/Off switch starting with the upper red wire.
  6. Remove the old battery fuel cell from the battery compartment.
  7. Place the new battery fuel cell in the battery compartment.
  8. Disconnect the wire connections. Using a set of needle nose pliers, disconnect the wire connections from the backside of the On/Off switch starting with the lower black wire.
  9. Reconnect the battery wire connection from the control.
  10. Place the battery strap back in place and secure the strap with the two screws previously removed.
  11. Place the deck assembly back in place. Using a Phillips screwdriver, 8mm wrench and a 4 mm Allen wrench, install the six screws and two Allen screws to secure the deck plate.
  12. Charge the scooter for 24hrs prior to use.

  • Tools Needed: 4mm Allen Wrench, Phillips’s screwdriver, Needle nose pliers, 8mm wrench

Warnings

  • Be sure to inspect the battery compartment for any leached battery acid prior to removal.
