Make a Trampoline Bike

A trampoline bike is a great way to practice BMX tricks, while lowering the risk of injury at the same time. This article explains how to make a trampoline bike for practice purposes.

Steps

  1. Remove the front and rear wheels.
  2. Remove the pedals and cranks.
  3. Pad the rough or sharp areas of the bike, such as the lowers of the forks and the area around the cranks and rear dropouts, you can also remove the seat and pad the top tube.
  4. Hold the foam in place using tape wrapped round the foam and frame.
  5. Practice your tricks on a trampoline.
  6. Wear a helmet in case you come off the trampoline.

Tips

  • Start slowly, with easy moves, working up to more difficult tricks.
  • Stop using the trampoline bike with any signs of wear on the trampoline or the bike itself.
  • Wear a helmet.
  • Pad the area around the trampoline for your safety.

Warnings

  • An unleveled trampoline can mean an easy accident.
  • Sharp edges on the bike may break the trampoline.
  • Stay clear of the edge of the trampoline.
  • Moving faster than your ability is a good way to challenge yourself, but moving too fast may be dangerous to your health.
