Block Someone on Snapchat

Steps

Blocking a Friend

  1. Open Snapchat. It's a yellow icon with a ghost logo in it.
    • Enter your username and password if you're not automatically logged in.
  2. Swipe down anywhere on the screen. Doing so will open your account profile.
  3. Tap My Friends. It's near the bottom of the screen.
  4. Select a friend to block. Do so by tapping on their name and holding briefly.
    • You may have to scroll down through the alphabet to find them.
  5. Tap ⚙️. It's in the upper-right corner of the dialog box.
  6. Tap Block.
  7. Tap Block. Confirm that you're sure you want to block this friend.
  8. Select a reason for blocking the person. The options include "Harassing me;" "I don't know them;" "Inappropriate Snaps;" "Annoying;" or "Other." Select the one that best reflects your reason for block them.

Blocking a Stranger Who Contacted You

  1. Open Snapchat. It's a yellow icon with a ghost logo in it.

  2. Tap the chat bubble. It's in the bottom left of the screen.
    • This opens a list of people that you've chatted with or have sent you messages.
  3. Select the user want to block. Do so by tapping on their name and holding briefly.
    • Scroll down, if necessary.
  4. Tap ⚙️. It's in the upper-right corner of the dialog box.
  5. Tap Block.
  6. Tap Block. Confirm that you're sure you want to block this friend.
  7. Select a reason for blocking the person. The options include "Harassing me;" "I don't know them;" "Inappropriate Snaps;" "Annoying;" or "Other." Select the one that best reflects your reason for block them.
