Steps
- Try to reason with your crush and get him or her to understand. Hopefully they will work with you and help you recover. they may not though, so for these problems additional help may be required.
- If your crush helps you, be sure to be very polite to him/her. It's usually a good idea to have a conversation with your crush or the person you're talking to, before going into the personal matters, just so common ground can be attained.
- Guys, if you're talking to girls, they will listen to you, it's in their programming. Be polite to her and control yourself. Do not get angry, just talk it out and relieve yourself of what's wrong. Sometimes it's best to tell everything, but be sure to use your best judgment.
- Girls, if you're trying to converse with a guy, get his attention first, and make sure he's listening (be sure to look him in the eyes). Be sure to get his attention, then tell him what's on your mind.
- Go to a close friend for help. Explain your troubles and try to work things out with them for your benefit. Do not try and work with your crush's best friend, as this more than likely will not help, unless you really know what you're doing.
- Spend time with other people, not necessarily your crush; being social may take your mind off the stress/depression as well as your crush.
Tips
- Make sure you are not being too obvious with your crush.
- If you do tell your crush you like him or her, it may feel awkward at first.
- Do not manipulate him/her to be with you, even if he/she is single or not.
