Draw Crystals
Ever wondered how to draw clusters of crystals? Learn how to do it by following these steps.
Steps
- Draw a long shape with several straight angles on the top. Make three to five angles for it to look natural, unless your angles are very small. Keep the lower lines as parallel as possible, like a tree trunk.
- Draw a second shape contained in the first one, with fewer angles. It should be similar but not identical to the first shape, a little shorter and much thinner, as shown.
- Draw lines connecting the inner shape's angles with the outer shape's angles. It's okay if you connect more than one angle to a single point, but try to space your lines out as evenly as possible.
- Repeat the same process, first drawing the outer shapes of the rest of the crystals. They should all be protruding from a central point at the base of the initial crystal, and most will be about the same size.
- As before, draw the inner shapes and connect the angles using straight lines. Again, connect them wherever you'd like, but try to space them evenly.
- Color your drawing however you'd like. To make your crystals look more realistic, use differing shades of whatever primary color you're using, and try to depict a shine coming from each individual one.
Tips
- Draw lightly in pencil so that you can easily rub out mistakes.
- You can make your crystals semi-transparent if you don't press the color in too hard.
