Make Watermelon Lemonade
Combine two favorites, watermelon and lemonade, to get the most refreshing summer treat ever! Just be sure to taste test the watermelon first––the sweeter it is, the better for the lemonade and the less sugar needed.
Ingredients
- 6 cups of watermelon cubes (seeds removed or a seedless variety)
- 1/4 cup raspberries
- 1 cup water
- 1/3 cup sugar (or less if the watermelon is very sweet)
- 1/2 cup lemon juice (freshly squeezed is best but you could also use bottled lemon juice)
Steps
- Place the watermelon cubes, raspberries and water in the container of the blender. Cover and blend until smooth. If you do not have a blender, just mash the pieces up with a fork.
- Strain the mixture through a fine mesh strainer into a pitcher.
- Stir in the sugar and lemon juice until sugar dissolves. Refrigerate until chilled, about 1 hour.
- Serve. This recipe should make four servings for an average glass size. Add a small wedge of watermelon to the side of the glass for an extra garnish if liked, plus a sprig of mint.
- Finished.
Tips
- The water can be changed to sparkling water for added zip.
