Write a Boy a Love Letter
Nothing says "I love you" quite like a love letter. Write your boyfriend a beautiful love letter, and you just might make him love you more deeply than he already does! Think love letters are too mushy, therefore unappreciated, by most men? Think again: some of the toughest acting guys melt like butter after receiving love letters. . . if that letter follows the right recipe!
Steps
- Get into the right mood. As any writer will tell you, what we write is greatly affected by our mood and our surroundings. To write a successful love letter to your boyfriend, start by getting your head and heart in the right place. Do whatever it takes to get yourself into a mellow, loving mood. Try putting on soft music, lighting incense, taking a warm bath, or even dressing in your favorite lingerie before sitting down to write. By doing these things, you may feel a subtle transformation, mentally and physically putting you in the mood to write a love letter.
- Choose the right stationery. Make sure you choose beautiful stationery for your romantic literary creation. Soft whites are romantic. Be sure to avoid flashy or gaudy colors. Since good stationery can be pricey, be sure to practice writing out your letter on scrap paper until you are satisfied with the words you have chosen. Write it out onto your good stationery when you are ready to create the final draft.
- A few words about the writing medium you choose: First, and hopefully this goes without saying, be sure to refrain from e-mailing or messaging your love letter to your boyfriend! For some things in life, and writing love letters is one of those things, the formal path is the better option. Nothing says "I didn't care enough to send the very best" than an e-mailed love letter!
- Don't sound desperate. Guys don't like desperate girls, and if he see you as desperate, he may feel uncomfortable and get scared away.
- Don't sound corny. Don't do the whole "Roses are red..." thing. If you are going to write a love letter, make it original.
- Use flowery language. You are likely not a poet or a professional romance writer. This doesn't mean you should avoid poetic language. Have a little fun with your letter. Sprinkle flowery sounding phrases like "our love," "your scent," "deep feelings," and "true to you" here and there. He will be impressed, and these words will add to the overall ambiance of your letter.
- Never mention his name in the letter! If he happened to drop it accidentally and one of his friends found it on the ground, he may be embarrassed. If you have a nickname for him, use that instead.
- Make sure to give it to him privately. If for some reason, he declines to accept it or gets uncomfortable reading it, at least you are alone with him. It also will save you some embarrassment.
