Draw a Celtic Plait Using Three Shapes
- Draw a thick outlined rounded rectangle vertically.
- Draw another rounded rectangle horizontally placed at the middle of the first one.
- Erase some of the lines along the intersecting areas to simulate the overlapping pattern as shown in the picture.
- Draw a thick outlined circle over the existing artwork.
- Erase some of the lines along the intersecting areas to simulate the overlapping pattern as shown in the picture.
- Add color to the artwork
- Add a background detail if necessary to emphasize the artwork.
Basic Celtic Plait
- Draw a square.
- Add extensions of equal length to each side.
- Add more extensions, making sure they line up with the previous lines.
- Add four 3-sided figures to form small rectangular blocks that line up with the original square.
- Add expanded versions to each of the 3-sided figures, which connect at the ends to form one continuous outside boundary line. That's it!
