Make a Strawberry and Orange Juice Smoothie
This simple combination of ice, juice and fruit is a very basic smoothie. If you choose to use sugar, this drink should be a treat, not a thirsty quencher.
Ingredients
- Strawberries
- 1 cup orange juice
- Sugar
- 4 or more ice cubes
- Blueberries (optional)
- Slice of orange (optional)
- Whipped cream (optional)
Steps
- Put a cup of orange juice into a blender.
- Add 4 or more ice cubes.
- Add fresh, ripe or frozen strawberries.
- Cover tightly, preferably with the lid of the blender and blend until fully blended. Check it after a few seconds. The consistency should be thick, like a smoothie.
- Add sugar according to taste, if necessary.
- Pour into tall glasses, garnish with a whole strawberry floating on top, or for color, add blueberries and a slice of orange attached to the lip of the glass. Tall glasses are optional.
- Add a straw, whipped cream, and serve. If you would like a healthier or simpler strawberry and orange smoothie, don't use whipped cream.
Tips
- For a change, try other soft fruits like raspberries or add a banana in with the strawberries when blending.
- Whipped cream is optional.
