Tell a Girl You Like Her in a Letter

If you have had your eye on a special gal but are not sure how to let her know how you feel then this article is for you. Here are the steps on how to write a letter to your dream girl and let her know exactly how you feel without the awkward pauses that happen face to face. Go sharpen your pencil, grab some paper, and let’s get started.

Steps

First Draft

  1. Make a list of the things that you like about her. Don’t worry about organization. Just open your heart and let it spill. Even if it sounds weird on paper, you can always change it later.
  2. Begin organizing your feelings into a letter. Just like in English class, writing a great letter that will make her smile requires a process.
  3. Be honest with your feelings. Let her know that you find her special and that you would like a chance to get to know her better.
  4. Use some romantic style in your letter. Be Poetic such as, “Your eyes are like a deep blue ocean” or “Your smile is like a sunrise that welcomes a wonderful day” are ideas of how to make your letter stand out. Don’t overdo it, but a little spice in the soup will get her attention.
  5. Tell her you want to talk and would like to meet somewhere. If she’s interested, this will get her excited.
  6. Avoid copying love quotes found online, as these usually end up sounding artificial.
  7. Thank her for taking the time to read the letter and let her know that if she doesn’t feel the same that it’s okay. You just want to let her know how you feel.

Final Draft

  1. Read your first draft out loud to yourself at least five times. As you read, anything that makes you hesitate should be fixed.
  2. Check your spelling, especially her name. If you get that wrong it’s over.
  3. Make it neat. After all, the whole point of writing the letter is to impress her, right? Make your final copy look as good as she does.

Tips

  • Take the time to create something wonderful
  • Make sure you smile when you give her the letter
  • Handwrite your letter as it will put both of you in better touch with what you are saying
  • Try to find a nice envelope to put the letter in
  • Give her the letter in private with none of her or your friends around to tease later
  • Your final draft should be in pen, preferably black or blue ink instead of red, purple, green, etc.
  • Use any resources you need to such as a word processor, a dictionary and/or thesaurus, poetry books, etc.
  • If you can draw, add a special picture either in or with the letter
  • Don't say any thing that you will regret.

Warnings

  • DO NOT write anything that is not your own as she will see right through it
  • DO NOT let anyone else read the letter, even if it’s to get a “second opinion”
  • DO NOT send a gift with the letter as you want her attention to be on your words
  • DO NOT let anyone else know you are writing the letter
